garnet peak - december 22, 2022

This was a great hike, completed by jayce and me, to the top of Garnet peak in the laguna mountains (via the penny pines trailhead).  Although it was only a four-mile round trip hike, requiring less than two hours of hiking and about 600 feet of ascent, it offered spectacular views of the borrego desert and surrounding mountains from the summit.  Beautiful 55 degree weather made for fantastic hiking conditions.  snow, on and around some of the trail, made conditions perfect for a snowball fight!
