Pacific crest trail, Section a segment 9 - january 6, 2022

This was my ninth segment of california's section a of the pacific crest trail.  section a starts in campo, ca (on the mexican border) and traverses north for 109.5 miles to warner springs, CA.  my goal was to complete Section a in a series of 14 day hikes.  This ninth segment (from the pioneer mail picnic area to the sunrise trailhead junction) WAS 6.9 miles (one way) AND 13.9 miles ROUND TRIP with about 1,270 feet of ascent.  I completed the hike in 4 hours 28 minutes. At this point, i had completed the first 59.5 miles of Section a (in 122.3 miles of hiking).  It was a gorgeous 60 degree day without another soul in sight on this beautiful section of the PCT.  The snowcapped peaks, in the distance, were an added bonus!
