Pacific crest trail, Section a segments 10 & 11 - january 11-13, 2022

These were my tenth and eleventh segments of california's section a of the pacific crest trail.  section a starts in campo, ca (on the mexican border) and traverses north for 109.5 miles to warner springs, CA.  my goal was to complete Section a in a series of 14 day hikes.  I deviated from the plan by combining the tenth segment (sunrise trailhead to rodriguez spur truck trail) and eleventh segment (rodriguez spur truck trail to scissors crossing) in a three-day, two-night adventure. These two segments were 17.5 miles (one-way) and 35 miles round trip.  I completed the round trip in 13 hours 56 minutes of hiking and 4,503 feet of ascent.  At this point, i had completed the first 77 miles of Section a (in 158.5 miles of hiking).  I encountered perfect 60s degree daytime weather, but the 40 degree nights in the tent were a bit chilly!
